Mysterious Diggings Pinot Noir 2020 - 12 bottles -
- 12 bottles -
From one of the highest altitude vineyards in Bannockburn, Central Otago comes the Mysterious Diggings Pinot Noir.
The name given to the mysterious Bannockburn gold diggings by local children, resonating with the mystery and history that is central to this wine and to Terra Sancta. This high altitude vineyard, on sandy soils produces Pinot Noir that is as vibrant and pure as the site.
Raspberry, cherry and bramble fruits with hints of rosemary and thyme on the nose, lead to a palate of bright red fruits with clove and licorice and cocoa. Supple and fleshy, with fine tannins, and a grippy intensity. Unified by a line of fresh acidity from front to back, it finishes with oodles of dark cherry and spice.
Awarded 5 Stars by Sam Kim.
FOOD & WINE
The darker fruit profile of the 2020 vintage lends itself well to complimenting a smorgasbord of barbequed protein including steak, chicken thighs, and pork sausages. Also great with barbequed salmon.
